hey, my name is Beāte Siliņa, and I am the creator of studio vēl.

I like to start this story with words – it all started with a desire. The desire to create something that has meaning not only for me, but also for those who choose it.

In the summer of 2025, the moment came when I literally woke up with a feeling – it was time for a project that would combine my love for the fashion industry, design and nature. That’s how studio vēl and the studio’s first collection “vēlme” were born step by step.

I am a graphic designer by profession. I worked in an office job in my field for several years, which gave me valuable experience and structure, but over time I realized that too strict frameworks and the lack of opportunities to develop my ideas were emptying me as a creative person. I took a break – a small internal restart, and that’s how studio vēl was born.

For me, it's not just a brand or a job. It's a part of me. A project where I can be present in every step and process.

The fact that I'm on this journey with my mother also gives the studio a special meaning. She's a seamstress, and it's in her hands that each bag takes its final shape.

We work with natural materials, mainly 100% cotton. It was important to me that the materials were sustainable and this principle would remain unchanged.

Handmade for me means being present in the process. Each piece is created individually, not on a conveyor belt. And I think you can feel it.

Bags are made from 100% cotton corduroy.
If necessary, the bag can be hand-washed in cool or lukewarm water,
or gently cleaned with a soft sponge that will not damage the fabric's surface.
For daily refreshing, the bag can be easily cleaned with a lint roller.
To maintain its shape, we do not recommend using a tumble dryer.
The bag can be lightly ironed with steam or an iron at a low temperature.

Ready-made models are shipped within 1-2 business days. We strive to deliver orders to parcel lockers as quickly as possible.
